Community Acquired Pneunomia project (CAP)

• The KNAW Postdoc Programme application was awarded (for Dr M Hussein Gasem, Semarang Indonesia) in February 2007: Improving management and outcomes of patients admitted to hospital with community-acquired pneumonia in Indonesia. We were one of seven granted programmes (out of 36 applications). The Indonesian applicant’s institution (Semarang University Diponegoro) will hold responsibility for the distribution of funds.

• From the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre the following researchers are involved: Mw. Dr. M. Keuter MD, PhD, Mw. Dr. S. Natsch, Pharm D PhD, Dr. P. Hermans, PhD.

• The applicants are P.J. van den Broek, Professor, MD, PhD (University/ Institute: Leiden University Medical Centre) and R.R.J. Djokomoeljanto, Professor, MD, PhD (Dr. Kariadi Hospital, University Diponegoro).

• Furthermore H. A. Verbrugh, Professor MD PhD (Erasmus MC University Medical Centre) is involved in this study.
