The substantive preparation consists of attending 9 Teaching evenings, the Tropico evenings (5 before places are allocated and some afterwards), passing a test and taking a language course.

2011

1. Teaching evenings  

There are monthly information evenings in the Hippocrates room on the 3rd Tuesday of every month except for July, August and December. The student is expected to attend all nine evenings. Part of the programme at each information evening is provided by a returned student.   

• 20 September: Nutrition and malnutrition in Majoor A + B, route 95
• 18 October: Tuberculosis in Hippocrateszaal
• 15 November: Malaria in Auditorium
• 17 January: Major Pediatric problems and vaccine preventable diseases in Auditorium
• 14 February: HIV/AIDS in Hippocrateszaal
• 20 March: Case Management in Hippocrateszaal
• 17 April: Policy on Burns and Infusion in Hippocrateszaal
• 15 May: The student doctor  in Hippocrateszaal
• 19 June: Maternal Health in Hippocrateszaal.
  

 - Location: Majoor A + B, Hippocrateszaal or Auditorium: 19.30 - 22.00 hour 

2. Tropico evenings: Every 3rd Wednesday during the module

3.  Test (open boek tentamen):  19.30 - 20.30 hrs (one hour!) 

2012:

• Tuesday 24 January (for March students) in Vendrik C
• Tuesday 24 April (for June students) in Moeys A
• Tuesday 24 July (for September students) in Moeys A
• Tuesday 23 October (for December students) 

(You may also sit the test earlier, but try to attend as many Teaching evenings as possible before taking the test)

4. PEP Profylaxis meeting  Location: AMD Erasmuslaan 17

Dates: On Thursday afternoon 16.00 hrs.

You can only visit the PEP meeting after you have received an invitation from Mrs Carla IJsenbrandt, NIIH.
